The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
